About P3O
A P3O model provides a decision enabling and delivering support structure for any change within an organization, be it large or small. This eLearning course is designed to enable delegates to understand the structure, roles, tools and techniques along with the processes that help to ensure change in the enterprise in line with the strategic objectives of the company.During the course, delegates will gain knowledge of the internationally recognized Best Practice terminology, structure, basic concepts and the fundamental principles of P3O. During the course, delegates will sit the P3O Foundation exam.
The purpose of the Portfolio, Program and Project Office (P3O) methodology is to provide universal guidance that enables individuals and organizations to successfully establish, develop and maintain appropriate support structures that do the following:
- Helps managers at the executive level to make decisions on strategy, prioritization, risk management, optimization of resources, etc. to successfully achieve business objectives (portfolio management)
- Identifies and realizes business outcomes and benefits of programs
- Successfully deliver project outputs and enable time, cost and quality benefits and advantages.
It's a great course to give you PMO-focused insights. It's not about project management; program management or portfolio management (although of course it mentions them a few times!) It's about the structure of PMOs; the different types of PMOs; the functions and services they provide and how PMOs work in an organization.
If you are committed to developing yourself in a PMO (or PMO role), you cannot ignore all the very good practices found in P3O.
The P3O Guidance - aligned with the other Global Best Practice guidelines brings together in one place a set of principles, processes and techniques to facilitate effective portfolio, program and project management through enabling, challenging and supporting structures.
