The Management of Portfolios (MoP) guidance provides advice and examples of applying principles, practices, and techniques that help optimize an organization’s investment in change alongside its business-as-usual (BAU) work. AVC’s Management of Portfolios (MoP) Foundation and Practitioner classroom course will prepare you for both the Foundation and Practitioner qualifications in MoP. About MoP®

Portfolio Management, MoP®, coordinates existing processes such as strategic planning, investment appraisal, and program and project management. However, it does not go into detail on how to manage programs and projects, but rather approaches them from a strategic angle, which can be understood from the actual definition of portfolio management in MoP: the coordinated set of processes and decisions that together create a perfect balance between change and the day-to-day management of the business.

Portfolio management with MoP approaches the management of change projects and programs from a strategic point of view. It provides an overview of all change activities, including what is in the portfolio, what it costs, what risks are faced, what progress is being made, and what the impact is on business as usual and the organization's strategic objectives.

The training will help you find an answer to questions such as: "What is a portfolio?", "How much does it cost?", "What disadvantages might there be?" and "How does it affect Business as Usual?". The Foundation level qualification measures understanding of the principles, cycles, practices, techniques, roles, responsibilities, documents, and organizational context within portfolio management. Specifically, by the end of the course, you should know and understand the following:
